So, what is Waterbomb Festival?

What is Waterbomb Festival

In case you’re not aware, Waterbomb Festival is a highly anticipated summer festival popularised in South Korea.

The first Waterbomb started in 2015 at the Jamsil Sports Complex in Seoul, tapping into the local Korean tradition of cooling off with water during the hot summer months.

It quickly gained popularity and expanded to multiple cities across South Korea like Busan, Incheon, Gwangju, Daegu, and Daejeon by 2019.

The festival is known for its unique blend of water activities and live music performances, primarily featuring K-pop, K-hip-hop, and EDM artists.

Attendees engage in water fights using water guns, while performers and the crowd get drenched by powerful water cannons on stage during the shows.

Throughout the years, Waterbomb has featured major K-pop acts like Taemin, Nayeon, Hwasa, Chungha, Jessi, Sunmi, iKON, BTOB, Aespa, and many more over the years. The lineups are diverse, catering to a wide range of K-music fans.

And it’s coming to Singapore.

Waterbomb began expanding internationally in 2023, with stops in Japan (Nagoya and Tokyo) and Thailand (Bangkok).

In 2024, it’s making its debut in Singapore on August 24-25 at Siloso Beach Sentosa, as well as visiting other Southeast Asian countries like Vietnam.

This year, the festival is organised by Viu Scream Dates, together with  Evergreen Group Holdings and presenter sponsor UOB.

You can buy a 1-day pass at $202, and a 2-day pass at $342 here.
