Back in November last year, Heavenly King Leon Lai gained attention for sitting instead of dancing to sing his fast numbers during a concert.
Then, the 57-year-old, who would at most shimmy his shoulders to the music, responded saying that he doesn’t look good dancing.
“Just sing! Some people say that Leon sings fast songs while sitting. You can do it too!” he said.
“It’s all about the right timing and feeling. I’m just doing what I’m good at,” he added.
Well, the stars must have aligned for Leon at his Macau concert on May 19.
In a video that has been making the rounds online, Leon appeared to be in high spirits and pulled out all the stops while performing his hit track ‘Sugar In The Marmalade’.
Not only did he groove enthusiastically alongside the dancers on stage, he also leapt near the end of the song.
Sure, his moves were not as polished as say, fellow Heavenly King Aaron Kwok’s, but he definitely gets an A for effort.
His fans were super thrilled with his high energy performance.
“Wow, Leon is dancing! I’m so lucky! I always thought sitting and singing fast songs was Leon’s thing. I was wrong! I wasn’t mentally prepared so I didn’t record it in time. Tonight, on 5/19, he danced! It’s adorable. My friends say I’m very lucky,” commented an enthused fan.
Another smugly remarked: “It’s all about fate.”
Netizens who attended Leon’s earlier shows echoed the fan’s reaction, saying they wished they had witnessed the rare moment.
Let’s hope we don’t have to wait too long to see Leon dance again.
