Move over policeman cardboard standee, a new cop has flexed his way into our hearts.
Okay, we jest. It’s hard to beat the ‘Yan Dao’ that greets us at the entrance of supermarkets and reminds us that shoplifting is a crime.
But this hunky tricep-dipping police officer comes close.
Inspector Benjamin Cheah has been gaining attention for his “thirst trap” video on the Singapore Police Force’s TikTok.
In the clip, Benjamin can be seen doing a couple of arm dips before clapping his hands, flipping to continue his workout upside down and wishing everyone “Happy Police Day”. In Singapore, Police Day is commemorated on June 3.
Sure, there’s some editing magic going on there, but looking at his form, consider us impressed.
The video, which was posted on May 26, has since garnered more than 171,000 views. And judging by the hilarious comments, netizens were tickled by the clip.
“Not the Singapore Police Force thirst trap!” wrote an online user, while another thirsty netizen commented, “Arrest me, officer!”
Another commended the account admin for “knowing the audience well”, and a concerned netizen asked, “Where is the chief safety officer?”
Not to be outdone, the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) posted its own version of the video, wishing the SPF “Happy Police Day”.
If you find Benjamin familiar, that’s ‘cos he went viral in 2015 for saving a distressed cat that was stuck on a tree and also made the news last year for doing an impressive 105 push-ups in a minute.
The Nanyang Polytechnic alum has also appeared as a cop on Mediacorp police drama C.L.I.F and was featured in the music video of Singapore’s SG50 song ‘These Are The Days’.
