As Singaporeans, we tend to complain about many aspects of our country – the heat, high cost of living, sky-high COE prices… the list goes on.
But for 25-year-old expat Nim, there’s no place she’d rather be now.
On May 26, the lawyer posted a TikTok video, praising Changi Airport as “the best” for finding her partner’s lost item in 30 minutes.
Calling it an “only in Singapore” story, Nim recounted how her partner had purchased a gift for a friend at the duty-free shop at Terminal 2 but, in his “mad haste”, left the bag at the arrival pick-up area.
Assuming the worst and that the gift was “long gone”, Nim decided to try her luck by reporting the missing item online through Changi Airport’s Lost and Found page. In an interview with MS News, she revealed that the bag contained a bottle of Tanglin Gin.
“I did that with kind of no hope that it would be found,” she explained.
Within 30 minutes Nim received an email from Changi Airport stating that her item had been found and was awaiting pickup.
“It’s not a sentimental object by any means, but just the fact that they found it, and no one else had obviously taken it, or maybe someone handed it in,” she shared in the video.
Changi Airport responded to the video with a comment, “Yay, glad to be of help.”
