Remember when Miss Singapore World 2009 contestant Ris Low took the internet by storm with her iconic catchphrase and interview?
Well, if “BOOMZ” and “I will wear something RAD” ring a bell, then you’re gonna enjoy this new parody of the former beauty queen. Ris was stripped off her title due to a previous conviction of credit card fraud.
Mr World Singapore 2024 is underway and organiser talent agency Beam Artistes has released a spoof of the ‘Boomz’ interview to drum up attention for the pageant.
It’s a brilliant idea, and they had the perfect reason to do it — a contestant named — wait for it — Reece Low.
We know, what are the odds, right?
The video, which was posted on Beam’s Instagram on Wednesday (May 29), begins with a snippet of Ris’ infamous interview, then teases, “15 years later… he’s back.”
In comes hunky Reece who introduces himself, much like how Ris did, saying, “Hi, I am Reece Low. I major in travel and tourism.”
In the same hilarious fashion, Recce continues: “When I am feeling naughty, I wear something RAD, something BOOMZ!”
His Ris Low impression is pretty good, especially the part where his voice goes all high-pitched and cracks.
Don’t you just love a guy who doesn’t take himself too seriously?
The 25-year-old fitness trainer will compete alongside 24 other contestants at the Mr World Singapore pageant finals on Aug 15.
