Hong Kong actress Ada Choi, 50, has been in showbiz for more than three decades, so it’s probably not a surprise that she has amassed quite a fortune.
Ada, who is married to Chinese actor Max Zhang and has three kids, is rumoured to have a net worth of US$43mil (S$58mil) and has a knack for investing in real estate.
Dubbed showbiz’s ‘Queen of Property’, she reportedly owns at least nine luxury homes in cities like Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, and Max’s hometown of Chongqing, worth a total of HK$200mil (S$34.6mil).
Most of the properties, including the 3,500 sq ft Shanghai four-bedroom apartment the family of five used to live in, are rented out.
Ada doesn’t just buy real estate for investment. They are also for the benefit of her kids, Zoe, 13, Chloe, 10, and four-year-old Le Er.
It was reported that in 2013, she snapped up three luxury apartments near the most prestigious schools in Hong Kong in one shot so her kids will be closer to her school of choice.
Max is quite a savvy investor himself.
He is said to have taken advantage of the recent fall in property prices to purchase a HK$44mil (S$7.6mil) bungalow in Hong Kong’s Yuen Long district.
