Singapore’s homegrown financial services company Singlife has moved its information technology (IT) infrastructure to the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud to provide real-time personalised digital financial services.
It uses machine learning services including Amazon SageMaker, to reduce processing times, streamline operations, and reduce costs.
This will help enhance customer experience, boost employee productivity, and optimise processing times.
According to Singlife, this will help save S$5 million in costs per year.
AWS Singapore’s country manager, Priscilla Chong, said Singlife has completed its all-in migration to AWS ahead of schedule.
Beyond enhancing customer experiences through data analytics, AWS will help Singlife achieve sustainability goals, digitally train its workforce, and deliver new products using the cloud, AI, and generative AI, Chong added.
First announced in late 2022, the multi-phased project included the migration of over 39 mission-critical applications and allowed the insurance firm to exit its data centres within 18 months.
It uses Amazon’s relational database service, Amazon Aurora – the fully managed MySQL and PostgreSQL-compatible relational database built for the cloud – to develop and bring new products to market.
