K-pop entertainer Jay Park, known for his entrepreneurial spirit, has a new venture: OnlyFans. Taking to his social media platforms on Tuesday (Jun 25), the rapper and former 2PM member announced his foray into the online subscription platform for those aged 18 and above, which typically features mature NSFW content.
“Follow ya boi on @onlyfans. #McNasty out June 30th,” Park wrote on Instagram, leading many to speculate his latest endeavour could just be a marketing ploy to promote his upcoming single.
Several expressed indifference to the possibility that it was simply a way to drum up publicity, rather than a serious announcement.
“There are no nudes and the subscription is completely free. There’s only two posts that are very tame (only his shirt is off, which is the usual for him) and both are promoting his upcoming single. That’s marketing. After a couple days of the single being out he’s prolly gonna delete it or leave it alone,” a netizen commented on K-pop news site, allkpop.
In the same comments section, another netizen suggested it could be due to “cultural differences” as they didn’t understand “what the fuss is all about”, similarly highlighting the “very tame” photos.
“There’s a substantial number of Koreans (mostly fitness influencers) who have accounts in OnlyFans anyway. But this is a very good way to market his album though, as it got everyone talking!”
According to allkpop, Park’s OnlyFans account thus far only features thirst-trap photos, a video, and a teaser photo for McNasty.
