Did Ex TVB News Anchor Bonnie Ng Get A Divorce ‘Cos Her Father-In-Law Won’t Let Her Have Air-Con At Home?

Call us privileged if you want but most people in this day and age probably can’t live without air-conditioning.

Especially former TVB news anchor Bonnie Ng.

Recently, Bonnie, who also played the young version of Linda Chung in 2008 TVB drama Moonlight Resonance, shared on her socials that she and her husband, Hong Kong composer Lam Fung, have split up.

Lam Fung, who married Bonnie in 2019, is the second son of Lam Chiu Ying, the former director of the Hong Kong Observatory.

Bonnie shared that she and Lam Fung, with whom she has a kid, have been separated for quite some time. They chose to keep the divorce a secret after taking into account that her ex-father-in-law is a public figure and of old age.

According to Bonnie, she and Lam Fung are still on good terms and their main focus now is taking care of their child.

Netizens, however, are more curious about the reason behind their split.

As Chiu Ying is known to only allow the use of fans in his house, netizens are now speculating that the couple went their separate ways because they were banned from having air-con at home.

Previously, Bonnie also took to her Facebook to say that it took her “10 years to be convinced that you really won’t die without air-con”.

Now, netizens are joking that Bonnie can finally start enjoying some cold air at home.

“Even love can’t fight global warming,” laughed one netizen while another said: “Looks like between air-con and marriage, she chose air-con.”

Well, guess things really got too heated in the Lam household.
