45-Year-Old Jeanette Aw Somehow Looks Like a Gen-Z in Latest IG Post

The 40s never looked so good. At least that’s the case for actress Jeanette Aw, who at 45-years-old recently did a shoot for Onitsuka Tiger.

Without looking at the Instagram handle, you would have thought this was just another post by our tiny island’s NUMEROUS Gen-Z social media influencers.

Alas no.

Decked in a basic Brandy Melville-like top and a tennis skirt, Jeanette Aw hardly looked like she was a veteran actress in her 40s.

Her caption does explain the idea behind the outfit.

“Reminiscing about playground fun and hanging on monkey bars at school, back when fun didn’t need gadgets.”

Seems like a not so subtle swipe at kids these days.

If that was how kids back in the 90s dressed, then at least one thing is for sure, youth fashion has not changed.

Right down to the socks and the shoes, Jeanette could have fooled you that she was just another Gen-Z influencer.

Just take a look at Brandy Melville’s Instagram for reference. The fashion style is uncanny.

Veteran actress

While her post is Gen-Z-esque, there is nothing Gen-Z about the veteran actress.

Born in 1979, the actress first came to the spotlight when she won the talent search Route to Glamour organised by the now defunct television network SPH MediaWorks in 2000.

She made her acting debut in 2002, starring as Fan Keke in Beautiful Connection, which was that year’s highest-rated Singapore drama.

She won the Best Newcomer at the Star Awards 2002.

Since then, she has become a mainstay in the Singapore acting industry, winning 18 Star Awards across various categories since her debut.

Her biggest breakthrough came in 2008 where she starred as one of the main characters in the blockbuster series The Little Nonya.

In 2018, she starred in Singaporean-Japanese-French film Ramen Teh. The film grossed a reported $735, 008 globally. It has an average rating of 86% on Rotten Tomatoes.

The veteran actress also has an impressive CV of PR endorsements on top of the latest with Onitsuka Tiger.

Most notably, she represents global beauty brand Lancôme and partnered with Bulgari in helping to raise funds for a Save the Children program in Vietnam.

Perhaps Jeanette has now identified a new market to inspire. That being the Gen-Zs and their athleisure, Pinterest-inspired fashion world.

Given her already strong following, she might have the potential to usurp the current status quo in the social media influencing industry after all.

Over in TikTok, there’s a drama involving property agents that’s caused by us. Here’s what happened:
