92-Yr-Old HK Actor Wu Fung Endorses “Trendy” & “Advanced” Columbarium

The topic of death may be a taboo to many but for 92-year-old Hong Kong actor Wu Fung, he’s not at all pantang about things like that.

Recently, the veteran star, who’s affectionately called Sau Gor, shared a video to promote a particular columbarium in Hong Kong.

In the commercial, Wu Fung first gushed that he never thought columbariums could be “so trendy”.

“In this world, everything is ever-changing, just like how there are technologies like Artificial Intelligence these days. Now even columbariums are so advanced! This is so eye-opening!” he enthused.

Wu Fung’s went on to describe the columbarium as “elegant” and “grand”. He further likened it to a mansion, and asserted that the deceased would feel very happy and “at peace” to have their urns placed there.

While Wu Fung appeared unperturbed about the inauspicious nature of the topic, netizens, however, were up in arms about it.

“Are you serious, [how can they] ask Sau Gor to shoot an advertisement like this?” chastised a netizen.

Another directed his message to the actor: “Sau Gor, this really isn’t appropriate for old people. Please don’t take on such jobs in the future.”

There were also netizens who praised him for not believing in superstitions and for being progressive.

“He’s more open-minded than many young people. No wonder Sau Gor is so healthy and energetic,” wrote one.

True enough, Wu Fung previously shared that he’s already made his future funeral arrangements. When he dies, he wants his ashes placed next to his late wife Wingho Lui, who died from illness in 2016.
