Eyes sore after a full day of looking at your work laptop? Well, a group of Jurong West residents have found a sight for their sore eyes at a coffee shop located at Blk 491 Jurong West Avenue 1.

Tang Xinyi (hanyu pinyin), a beer lady working at the coffee shop, has suddenly become viral after a netizen posted on the Facebook group “Complaint Singapore” about Ms Tang’s beauty, sharing: “Wow now beer girls so pretty at 491 Jurong coffee shop”.

We’re not sure why it’s posted onto “Complaint Singapore” since it looks to be the opposite of a complaint, but okay. 

Since then, social media has seen a surge in posts about the chiobu beer lady. Many have also since flocked to the coffee shop for a beer or a meal as well.

According to Shin Min Daily News, the coffee shop was packed with patrons, with more than ten tables filled with drinkers. And it appears that the patrons have also taken notice of Ms Tang’s beauty, with one of the coffee shop patrons sharing that Ms Tang was nicknamed “beer xi shi” — xi shi being one of the four beauties of ancient China.

27-Year-Old Beer Lady has been Working in Singapore for Two Years; Travels To and From Malaysia Daily

According to Shin Min Daily News, Ms Tang has been working in Singapore for two years as a beer lady and started working at the Jurong West coffee shop eight months ago.

The 27-year-old hails from Malaysia and has to travel to and from Malaysia daily for work.

She’s a hard worker lah — even the coffee shop owners agree. Owners of the Jurong West coffee shop shared that Ms Tang provides excellent service — she visits each table to check in and works diligently.

Hopefully, with her rise in online popularity, it’ll attract more business for her, and with any hope, more tips as well — it’s not easy working as a beer lady.

Ms Tang also shared that she did not expect her sudden rise to fame, and had never considered becoming a “celebrity” of sorts. Regardless, she shares that she was grateful for the public’s support.

However, she is also concerned about becoming even busier in the future given that the coffee shop only has one beer lady — Ms Tang herself.

So, if you’re headed to the coffee shop, try to be understanding lah, hor. And if you’re a regular at the coffee shop just looking for some food, perhaps you should be prepared to dabao your food instead if the seats are filled by those trying to meet Jurong West’s newest celebrity, Ms Tang.

After all, even the owners of the Jurong West coffee shop shared their hopes that Ms Tang’s newfound fame would further boost the coffee shop’s business, even though the coffee shop is usually already full on weekends.
