When you think of protective Hong Kong celebrity dads, Heavenly King Andy Lau, 62, is probably one of the first names that come to mind.
Known to be fiercely protective of his daughter Hanna, 12, Andy has admitted to being a “yes-dad” and previously shared that he and Hanna both love art and are inseparable.
Hanna is Andy’s daughter with his Malaysian wife Carol Chu, 58.
Recently, Hong Kong actor Spencer Leung shared a sweet anecdote about the father and daughter on his YouTube live show 娱乐好好玩, loosely translated as Entertainment is Fun.
Once, a friend of Spencer’s was eating at a cha chaan teng in Sai Wan when Andy walked in.
The friend was so surprised that he almost called out Andy’s name, but the star gestured for him to keep quiet.
“You know, Andy is like that. He doesn’t want to cause a scene,” said Spencer.
Turns out, Hanna needed to use the bathroom urgently and Andy took her there to use it.
Andy held his daughter’s hand and led her to the restroom and waited for her by the door.
When Spencer’s friend approached Andy for a photo together, the star replied: “Okay, but please don’t be so loud. I don’t want to scare my daughter.”
