Members Of New Chinese Boyband Promise To “Not Date Or Have Any Secret Associations With Others”

Chinese idol management company Time Fengjun Entertainment (TF Entertainment) is responsible for some of Asia’s most popular groups like TFBoys, and Teens in Times (TNT).

On August 25 and 26, the third batch of trainees from TF Entertainment performed at Kuala Lumpur’s Axiata Arena and it was there that the company announced the debut of a new six-member group, T.O.P Deng Lu Shao Nian (T.O.P登陆少年).

The members of the new group, Zhu Zhixin, 18, Zhang Zeyu, 17, Zhang Ji, 17, Su Xinhao, 17, Zuo Hang, 18, and Xu Yuhan, 17, were chosen among 13 trainees. The name of their fan club was also revealed to be Butterfly (福来).

While on stage, Zhixin, on behalf of his members, laid down a really heavy promise to all of their supporters.

He said: “I promise to never forget my initial dreams, and the ways in which the company has nurtured us. We will not disappoint our fans, and will persist in working hard as a team instead of quitting halfway. We will put the team’s glory ahead of our own, and our teammates are not only our companions, but also family.”

He continued: “We will always remember the promise made between us and our fans. We will adhere to the rules of an idol, and will not date or have any secret associations with others.”

A mission statement for success or famous last words?
