Popular Chinese fitness influencer Liu Can has died at the age of 27.
The Chongqing native was a bodybuilder known for his handsome good looks. He was also an avid cosplayer, and often took to his social media page to share fitness and cosplaying content with his 100K followers.
Prior to his passing, Liu Can cosplayed as Erlang Shen from the massively popular video game, Black Myth: Wukong. The video went viral, but no one expected it to be the one of the last clips he would ever post online.
The tragic news of Liu Can’s death was shared by his uncle on Douyin and Xiao Hong Shu.
“We’re very sad to share that Liu Can (my nephew) passed away on September 5. He died in a drowning accident, and was 27,” wrote Liu Can’s uncle.
On September 8, the news was confirmed by Liu Can’s wife and his agency.
Netizens were shocked by the young influencer’s sudden passing, with many sharing posts in his memory.
According to one netizen, Liu Can, who was known to be an experienced swimmer, had drowned while swimming.
Many were also shocked to discover that Liu Can’s last social media post featured a scene of him standing in a pool, with the words “The End” appearing at the end of the clip.
