Hong Kong wuxia fantasy movie The Storm Riders, which starred Aaron Kwok and Ekin Cheng, was a huge hit when it was released in 1998.
The film not only gained a cult following for its special effects and over-the-top action scenes, Aaron and Ekin’s respective portrayals of the characters Cloud and Wind, also left a deep impression on viewers.
And so did the two child actors who played their younger versions.
According to reports, former TVB child actor Cheung Yu Tung, who played the young Cloud (Aaron), is still in showbiz.
Besides acting, he also hosted several kids’ programmes and did voice over work. Now 36, he is a professional voice actor.
As for Tse Tsz Fung, who played the kid version of Wind (Ekin), after appearing in a few TVB dramas, he left showbiz in the late ’90s and has remained out of the spotlight.
Recently, netizens discovered that Tsz Fung, also 36, is with the Hong Kong police and is now a chief inspector at the Financial Intelligence and Investigation Bureau.
With the exception of his hairstyle, Tsz Fung’s appearance has barely changed.
According to reports, he was previously in the Narcotics Bureau and even served in the media liaison team.
In addition to his police work, Tse also engages in volunteer activities with artistes such as Jacquelin Ch’ng and Raymond Cho.
Tsz Fung got his start in acting after being scouted on the streets in 1993.
He made his debut the following year in the TVB drama Fate of the Clairvoyant, in which he played the son of Amy Chan and David Chiang’s characters.
He went on to appear in numerous TV shows and films, such as Journey to the West (1996), The Criminal Investigator (1995), and Lady Flower Fist (1997).
The Storm Riders was his last film before he quit acting to focus on his studies.
