Looks like swimming gold medallist Qin Haiyang, who had us gushing over his fashion model swagger during the Paris Olympics, has found himself is in one possibly career-ending scandal. And no, it isn’t about doping.
In a post that has since gone viral online, the 25-year-old’s fiancée first came out to accuse Haiyang of infidelity during her pregnancy.
She shared sordid details of him soliciting sex from fans and even hooking up with a synchronised swimming athlete.
His fiancée is reportedly a Chinese businesswoman who had previously presented him with a medal as a sponsor.
The fiancée also accused his family of turning a blind eye to his ways and instead urged her to be understanding.
According to her, she tried to end her relationship with Haiyang, but he reportedly used recorded intimate videos of her as leverage.
“I apologise for taking up public resources, but the issue that has accumulated over time cannot be resolved, and I can no longer tolerate this,” she tearfully said.
“I wanted to preserve some dignity for you, but your evasive attitude has made me realise that I truly loved the wrong person,” she added.
His fiancée also revealed that she has been responsible for not only paying for all their dates and travel expenses, she even funded gifts for his fans.
“You only seem interested in checking if your fans are attractive,” she challenged.
Like they always say, hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.
Since the bombshell news dropped, netizens have since scoured the Internet for appearances of the two and have posted unconfirmed pictures and videos of her.
Haiyang’s camp has since denied his fiancée’s claims and described the allegations as “malicious slander that has severely damaged his reputation”.
They also stated that in response, they are gathering relevant evidence to report to public security authorities.
However, Haiyang’s fiancée immediately got onto another livestream accusing Haiyang of hiring prostitutes while he was serving in the military.
She even played a voice recording of him allegedly admitting to hiring escorts while in the military.
“It’s embarrassing for others to get involved. If this isn’t enough evidence, I have more. Still no apology huh?” she threatened.
