Jay Chou Lookalike’s Egg Roll Business Doing So Well, He Upgrades Streetside Stall To Actual Shop

Jay Chou’s immense popularity has benefited his doppelgangers in more ways than one. Some of the Mandopop King’s army of lookalikes are now charging for public appearances, while others are riding on his coattails and expanding their businesses.

One of his doppelgangers, Bai Xianying aka Zhou Binglun, has now opened a proper shop selling egg rolls in fancy Tianjin.

Comparisons between the 43-year-old and Jay first started as early as 2006 when he ran a streetside egg roll stall in Hebei.

The brick-and-mortar shop had its opening on Tuesday (Oct 15) and welcomed more than 200 customers on its first day.

A video posted online saw Binglun working in the busy kitchen while a snaking queue of people waited in line to make their orders.

Pictures of the opening also saw Binglun creatively naming his dishes after popular Jay Chou songs.

Prices for food items range between nine yuan to 30 yuan (S$1.60 to S$5.50).

We are still hoping the real Jay turn up to surprise one of his most popular lookalikes.

After videos and pictures of the opening were posted online, netizens took to the comments with many wishing him success with his new shop.

“From roadside stall to a proper shop, I hope this Internet celebrity will not collapse and keep working on his business,” read a comment.

Another praised Binglun for his down-to-earth persona and wrote, “Known him for a few years now and he is still just as humble and appreciative for all the support he has received”.
