Monkey At King Albert Park MRT Seen Taking Escalator Like A Commuter To Escape Station Staff

With Singapore being such a tiny city state, it is getting more common to see wildlife in our residential areas. Hi, otters!

This time, a netizen who was at a bus stop, posted a video of a monkey waiting near the escalator of King Albert Park MRT station.

The netizen described Singapore as a “truly remarkable place” and the video showed a train station employee trying to guide the monkey away to no avail.

Allegedly a long-tailed macaque, one of the more common species of monkeys in Singapore, it was seen holding the handrails of the escalator as it walked up.

Umm… don’t mind us  scrambling to take the stairs instead.

Also, is it just us or has the monkey been observing how we use the escalator?

Netizens had a laugh and took to the comments that they have seen these critters going about their monkey business around the area too.

A quick check online revealed quite a few videos of monkeys hanging around the station.

One clip also showed a monkey that managed to make its way down all the way to the platform before being chased by a station staffer.

Another netizen thought it was funny how the monkey at the MRT station seemed to be pulling the elevator handrail.

“Without the monkey pulling up the elevator handrail, it won’t even work. What would we do without it?” joked a netizen.

“I think the monkeys are gentler than those overseas,” suggested a netizen.

We have to agree, those monkeys in Bali mean business when they want your bag of food.
