Driving Instructor Ties Durian Husks To Steering Wheel To Teach Student How To Drive

No wonder they say learning can be a painful process.

A driving instructor from China has come up with a prickly method to ensure that his student will remember their lesson for a long, long time.

The instructor revealed on Douyin that he had spent a week teaching his student the correct way to hold the steering wheel. However, after multiple lessons, the student still could not get the hang of it.

For those who don’t drive, it is generally advised that one places their hands at a nine and three o’clock positions so they can have good control over the wheel, and reduce the chance of injury from the airbag.

The instructor decided to use zip ties to attach four pieces of durian husks to the steering wheel to make sure the student has his hands on the correct positions at all times… or risk getting his hands pricked.

“This way, I think you’ll learn within a day,” quipped the instructor in his caption.

The video saw the student fighting to stay focused and pulling his hand away in shock when he accidentally touches a husk.

Many netizens have since said they wish they had an instructor with the same sense of, um, thorny humour.

No pain, no gain right?
