Thailand passed the marriage equality bill to allow same-sex marriage in June and seems like BL (boy love) drama actors Mew Suppasit Jongcheveevat and Tul Pakorn Thanasrivanitcha, both 33, are wasting no time taking their relationship to the next level.
Yesterday (Oct 24), Mew, best known for his role in popular BL series TharnType, surprised fans and media when he proposed to Tul during the press conference for his new single ‘Absence’.
Calling Tul onto the stage, Mew said: “Like I told you, the purpose of this song is for the person who has come to fulfil my empty heart. Before I started making the song, I had a talk with the songwriter and my brief was ‘I want a song that I will use for my marriage proposal.'”
He then got down on bended knee, with a ring in hand, and popped the question to a visibly surprised Tul.
And he said yes, obviously.
“Never thought it would come this fast, but I once thought about it. If it happens, I will kneel down and propose back as well… We still haven’t informed my mum,” said Tul, teary-eyed.
And he kept his word, getting down on his knee to propose to Mew.
In 2022, Mew hinted at being in a relationship but kept his partner’s identity secret.
His close interactions with Tul attracted much attention, with many speculating that the latter was his significant other.
It wasn’t until July this year that the couple went public with their relationship on Thai YouTube show My Ambulove.
They shared that they met a decade ago at a fashion school where they went to be models for their friends.
