The upcoming Deepavali holidays will see thousands crossing the Causeway for a short trip.
But if you aren’t that keen on being stuck for hours on the Johor-Singapore Causeway, have you considered… walking?
In a six-minute video posted online, Msian netizen Irving shared about his experience and how he surprisingly only took 20 minutes to walk the entire length of the Causeway.
Starting his journey at 5:45am in Johor Bahru, Irving took about 15 minutes walking along roads to reach the Johor checkpoint.
After scanning his passport, Irving proceeded to cross to Singapore.
Is it just us or was Irving walking along the road instead of a pedestrian pathway?
We also saw a couple of cars driving uncomfortably close as well.
If safety ranks high on your list of priorities, maybe taking a bus or train would be a better option.
Interestingly, both Singapore and Malaysia have permitted people to walk across the Causeway since March 26, 2022, but there are still multiple signs asking people not to.
Irving went on to share that it took him about an hour to reach Kranji MRT station by foot since leaving home.
After changing trains twice, Irving finally reached his workplace at 8:14am after two hours and 15 minutes.
It is not revealed where in Singapore Irving works, though at the end of the video he admitted it was quite an experience.
“I get to save money, enjoy the scenery, and not queue with others for the bus,” said Irving.
“However, the downside is it got a little tiring and a little dangerous,” he added.
Irving did not explain in detail what dangers he faced though we dare say one of the dangers is getting involved in an accident.
Also, we can’t imagine reaching work all sweaty either.
Would you consider walking the next time you head into Johor Bahru?
