New TVB drama No Return has been getting quite a bit of buzz since it premiered last week, with talk about everything from the cast’s costumes to their acting.
Starring Wayne Lai and Nancy Wu, the much-anticipated series is the fourth instalment of the popular Rosy Business franchise. The 2009 original spawned sequels, 2010’s No Regrets and 2016’s No Reserve.
In No Return, Nancy, 43, plays Deng Gui Chan, or ‘Seventh Master’, an astute businesswoman and influential figure in Shanghai’s banking industry.
So you can expect her character to have an enviable wardrobe with lots of elegant looks.
No, really.
Nancy appears in a new outfit nearly every time she’s on screen, though some have been less than well-received.
One in particular is this festive red and green plaid look paired with a blue fascinator (see below), which many have likened to a Christmas tree.
Even Nancy agrees.
“One of the outfits indeed has a very Christmas feel, with plaid print and a cloak. I even feel like I could hide gifts inside and hand them out to everyone. The fact that so many people remember this outfit shows it’s memorable. I believe the art team had their reasons for choosing this design,” said Nancy in an interview with HK01.
