Singapore is expected to get a new AI/Cloud Native Lab to help enterprises accelerate AI initiatives by providing access to generative AI tools and expertise.
In partnership with Nanyang Polytechnic and Singapore Polytechnic, the lab will also focus on nurturing AI talent, offering learning opportunities for students and mid-career professionals to strengthen Singapore’s AI skills pipeline.
HCLTech will set up the lab which is expected to open in 2025.
The lab is supported by the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB).
Through offerings including AI Force and AI Foundry, the lab will support companies in deploying scalable AI tools to enhance efficiency and develop new business capabilities.
HCLTech’s chief technology officer and head of ecosystems, Vijay Guntur, said the labs are a starting point for enterprises that want to develop blueprints for AI and generative AI-led efficiencies, new business capabilities, skilling roadmaps, and organisational competitive advantage.
The lab is the company’s fifth, joining others in the US, UK, Germany, and India.
Singapore has made strides in helping companies adopt and innovate with AI across sectors including financial services, manufacturing, and SMEs.
In 2023, the Singapore government launched the Singapore National AI Strategy 2.0 intending to build a trusted and responsible AI ecosystem.
