Tavia Yeung, Him Law Live In SK-A-Month ‘Feng Shui Home’ To Boost His Chances Of Winning Best Actor

With the TVB Anniversary Gala done and dusted, you know what that means? The nominees for the TVB Anniversary Awards, which takes place in January every year, will soon be announced.

Hong Kong actress Tavia Yeung, who received widespread praise for her performance in revenge drama Darkside of the Moon, is believed to be a strong contender for Best Actress. She won the title in 2012 for her role in Silver Spoon, Sterling Shackles.

But if you asked Tavia, 45, she would tell you she would much rather husband Him Law, 40, win Best Actor for his role in Happy Ever After? in the upcoming awards.

In a recent interview, Tavia expressed her support for Him, saying: “I’d be even happier if he won. He performed brilliantly, and the show had great ratings. I’m canvassing votes for him now — go, hubby, go!”

They hope to make history as TVB’s first “Best Actor and Actress Power Couple.”

Tavia is very serious about her wish, apparently.

A strong believer of feng shui, Tavia spared no expense, spending HK$400K (S$69.3K) to engage a fortune teller to change their names to help boost Him’s career.

Before Tavia returned to TVB to shoot drama Modern Dynasty in 2022, she reportedly negotiated conditions to benefit her husband’s career as well.

More recently, acting on advice from a feng shui master, the family moved from their Tai Po luxury apartment to a 43-year-old detached house in Sai Kung’s Clear Water Bay Road, which they reportedly rent for HK$60K (S$10.4K) a month.

The reason? The house boasts excellent feng shui and its layout is said to be “conducive for winning the Best Actor award”.

Its convenient location also makes it easier for Him to commute to TVB.

The feng shui seems to be working for them. Since the family moved in to the home, they have celebrated multiple milestones, including the couple’s 8th wedding anniversary.

However, when interviewed by Oriental Daily News, Him downplayed claims about their feng shui home.

“It’s not as magical as it sounds. We moved mainly to accommodate our kids’ schooling needs and to live closer to Giselda (Tavia’s sister), so my mother-in-law doesn’t have to shuttle around and can easily visit both daughters,” he said. They couple have two kids, Hera, four, and Eden, three.

When asked about the “Best Actor luck boosting layout,” Law replied: “Yes, we do consider feng shui, but whether I win [Best Actor] depends on the audience. I’m so happy to have my wife’s support. What’s most important to me is that viewers enjoy my performance and remember the drama.”

He really wants the award and is confident of his chances this year.

“My wife has already won Best Actress before. If I also win, it would be perfect,” he said.
