Here’s one thing to look out for if you’re visiting Hong Kong Disneyland anytime soon.
The theme park is known for its friendly mascots and thrilling rides, but have you heard of its iconic trash can?
Aptly named Push the Talking Trash Can, it travels around the theme park, interacting with visitors and asking them if they have any trash.
“I want to eat rubbish, is there really none?” a purple and yellow Push is heard asking visitors in Mandarin in a video. When the visitors replied no, Push throws a tantrum, and wails as it moves away.
It then finds someone else and politely addresses her as “Jie Jie”. She holds up a piece of tissue and throws it into Push.
Push then breaks out into celebration and makes eating sounds.
Many online are entertained by Push’s cute antics, with many saying that animating the trash can was the “perfect use of AI”.
A number also joked about how “creepy” it would be to run into the Push alone. Totally valid. We would get a shock if a trash can started talking to us without any prior warning.
Push the Talking Trash Can first appeared in Florida’s Walt Disney World Resort in the mid-nineties and was a permanent fixture at the Magic Kingdom for almost 10 years before its ‘retirement’.
Its latest reappearance has delighted many, so hopefully, Push is here to stay.
