Vivian Hsu Got Trapped In Bukit Timah Flood ‘Cos She Went To Buy Din Tai Fung For Her Son

By now you would have read about how Bukit Timah was flooded yesterday (Dec 29) because of the heavy downpour.

Taiwanese star Vivian Hsu, 49, experienced it first-hand.

Vivian, who split from Sean Lee, her Singaporean husband of nine years, last December, is said to be in town to spend the holidays with her nine-year-old son, Dalton.

Last night, Vivian shared on Instagram that she had just left a cafe with her friend when she realised how bad the floods were.

According to Vivian, who was going to dabao food for Dalton from Taiwanese restaurant Din Tai Fung, her car was almost half-submerged in water by the time she saw it.

There were cockroaches and lizards crawling on her car to escape the flood.

Vivian ran over in the rain to ‘rescue’ her car, only to find herself trapped in the middle of the road shortly after she managed to drive out.

“[The roads] were filled with floating rubbish bins and other cars that were about to be submerged,” she wrote, adding that it was the first time she felt “so cold” in her car in Singapore.

That did not stop Vivian buying Din Tai Fung for her son though.

She also “urgently needed to go to the loo”.

As she had no idea how long she would be trapped there for, she decided to get out of her car, run in the water to get to the mall and find a toilet.

“After almost an hour, I was finally freed from the crisis and bought the Din Tai Fung that my son loves!” she wrote.

Vivian was also thankful she had a friend with her when everything happened. She did, however, regret wearing out her “favourite pair of white sneakers” that day.

The power of a mother’s love, right?
