There’s a Real Jacket & Dress Made With Bubble Wrap & They Cost Over $100

We live in an age where just about anything can be considered fashion — even clothes that look like bubble wrap.

Yes, you read that right. People are now selling clothes that look like bubble wrap for more than $100 each. Here’s what you need to know about it.

Jacket and Dress Resembling Bubble Wrap Sold for Over $100 Each

On Sunday (22 December), a TikToker posted a video about a peculiar dress she saw in a mall in Minsk, Belarus.

The dress was completely transparent and looked to resemble a large piece of bubble wrap. The only part of the dress which did not look like bubble wrap was a white zipper on the back of the dress.

The TikToker also showed the dress’s price tag in the video — no prizes for guessing how much the dress costs, but it was 280 Belarussian Rubles, which is approximately S$116.

Wah… $116 can buy a lot of bubble tea sia.

As it turns out, the dress is made by a clothing brand named ZNWR.

The clothing brand has also been dubbed the “Balenciaga of Belarus”. But well, we’d say the bubble wrap dress might change it to the “Moschino of Belarus” instead.

For context, the Moschino Fall 2017 collection also included a dress that resembled bubble wrap.

Ah… Brands and their quirky ideas. Soon, we might be seeing bubble wrap clothing items on SHEIN too…

Anyway, the bubble wrap dress isn’t the only piece of clothing produced by ZNWR which resembles bubble wrap. Over in the men’s section, there is a jacket that resembles bubble wrap as well.

In the spirit of “his and hers” lor, I suppose. A new era of couple outfits.

But the million-dollar question is this — how much does the bubble wrap jacket cost? (hopefully, not a million dollars)

According to Oddity Central, the bubble wrap jacket costs 380 rubles, which is approximately S$158.

So, both the dress and the jacket cost upwards of S$100. Would you buy it?

The Bubble Wrap Collection: A Very Limited One

Regardless of your answer as to whether you would buy the bubble wrap dress and jacket, you probably can’t even buy it anymore, even if you wanted to.

The reason? Well, the bubble wrap collection is a limited one.

According to an Instagram post made by ZNWR, “only 20 exclusive Bubble Jackets and Bubble Dresses were made”.

The clothing brand also adds that the bubble wrap clothing pieces are perfect for those who want to stand out from the velvet and satin clothing pieces others would be wearing on New Year’s Eve.

Well, I guess if you popped the bubble wrap on your dress (assuming they can be popped), it would sound a little like DIY fireworks — what better way to usher in the new year?
