If you grew up in the 90s’, you would know Hong Kong actor-singer Ekin Cheng as one of the most dashing celebs of that era.
Naturally, that has changed more than 30 years on.
However, we can only imagine how the 57-year-old cringed when his Last Song For You co-star, Natalie Hsu called him… “Uncle”.
During an appearance to support the film, the 20-year-old Natalie talked about working with Ekin and she used to term “uncle” to describe him.
The cameras caught Ekin looking stunned momentarily, even pointing to himself and mouthing “Uncle? Me?” as the audience burst out in laughter.
We guess Natalie thought she was being polite but that has got to hurt.
The actor then jokingly (we think?) glared over, seemingly reminding Natalie to choose her next words wisely.
Natalie then bowed in apology and started to call Ekin “big brother” instead.
Some netizens commented that there was nothing wrong with being called an ‘uncle’ at his current age.
“Maybe it’s time to consider going for surgery?” read a mean comment.
Hey, ever heard of aging gracefully?
However, his fans came out to defend him with one saying, “At 57, his looks are very well maintained already.”
“At least he didn’t undergo cosmetic surgery that makes him look unnatural,” read another comment.
