“Is it possible walk from Sentosa to Malaysia?” asked travel influencer @mywindowseat_sg on his Instagram.
Technically, yes, but with Singapore’s efficient public transport system, the simple question is, why?
Nevertheless, the content creator, whose real name is Stefan and is German, started off from Sentosa at 10.47pm then making his way to the Green Corridor aka Rail Corridor.
The 39-year-old, who lives in Singapore, explained his decision by highlighting that the Green Corridor cuts through the entire island though he was later met by a downpour at 1am.
Again, public transport is easily available, right?
Also, the Green Corridor is devoid of streetlights, making it pitch dark at night.
Thankfully, it seems the full moon was out, allowing Stefan to avoid using his headlamp for most of the trek.
During his trek through the Green Corridor, he spotted multiple frogs, even naming two of them Edward, and Juan respectively.
After almost three hours, Stefan reached Kranji MRT Station, which is just 2.5km from the Causeway.
After a quick meal of what seems like kway teow with fried egg, Stefan made his way to the Singapore side of the Causeway at 4.39am where he noticed that there was already a queue of cars waiting to enter Malaysia.
As he crossed the Causeway, the sharp-eyed influencer even spotted two crocodiles lounging in the water, naming them Richard and Josephine.
At this point, we wonder how he even had the energy to spot these camouflaged reptiles in the murky water at dusk.
At about 5.30am after almost six hours since the start of his trek, Stefan ended his journey by saying he booked the cheapest hotel he could find and retired at 6am.
The clip naturally attracted the attention of netizens with many applauding his effort.
One even said this was a testament to how safe our country is, even while walking through a place as deserted as the Green Corridor.
“Not sure if I would do that in any other country [other] than Singapore,” Stefan responded.
One comment even hilariously cautioned him that he might see a “kakak” aka a female ghost.
Some have also asked Stefan if he could join him on future treks.
We can only wait to see what else he has up his sleeves.
