Though there have been many speculations about Singaporean pop star JJ Lin’s love life in the past, he’s never gone public with a relationship before.
Now we know why.
The 43-year-old singer’s fans aren’t too supportive of him dating.
Recently, rumours that he is dating an influencer 20 years his junior named Annalisa went viral.
This led to an uproar among his fans, with some writing lengthy posts — up to 10,000 words — expressing their disappointment.
They lamented the years of dedication and money spent supporting him, only to feel let down.
On Weibo, the hashtag “JJ Lin Fans Leaving” has garnered thousands of posts, sparking discussions of a mass “unfollowing”.
Some fans, however, have taken the situation lightly, joking: “Great! Now I won’t have to fight for concert tickets anymore.”
They also felt that dating is a personal matter and that JJ is a singer, “not a monk”. They criticised those who wish to stop supporting JJ, calling them “not real fans”.
The romance rumours seemingly surfaced after a classmate of Annalisa’s leaked the information.
According to the classmate, their relationship began in late 2023 and that they met through JJ’s close friend, Tony.
Annalisa, who claims to be Chinese-American, is actually from Guangdong.
She is described as sweet and innocent and is said to have a stunning figure.
Sources claimed that JJ had just broken up with a Taiwanese starlet before being introduced to Annalisa.
Despite publicly declaring himself single at a fan meet in Hangzhou last March, he was allegedly already romantically involved with Annalisa.
The two reportedly travelled together to Japan and JJ had arranged front-row seats for her — seats that were not publicly available but rather reserved for guests — at his Singapore concert in December 2023.
In January last year, the couple was spotted vacationing in New Zealand with the star’s close friend, actor Harry Chang and his girlfriend.
JJ has yet to respond to the dating rumours.
The singer had been previously linked to many celebs, including singers Jin Sha, Yumi Lin, busty model Lilian Chen and talk show host Weng Tzy Mann. But JJ has repeatedly denied all the rumours.
He had only publicly expressed interest in S.H.E member Hebe Tien.
