Let’s be honest: every woman wants to look their best on their wedding day.
In fact, a woman from Zhejiang province in China disliked how she looked during a wedding dress fitting that she made it her mission to lose as much weight as possible before the big day.
The woman, known as Chen, lost 17kg in three months. Previously tipping the scales at 61kg, she was 44kg by the end of her weight loss journey.
In an interview with Elephant News, Chen said that she gave up high-calorie and sugary foods, and instead consumed mostly lean meat, vegetables, and fruits.
Chen also undertook an intensive workout program which combined aerobics, high-intensity interval training, and weightlifting.
She admitted it wasn’t easy and says she often felt hungry and fatigued. But the thought of slipping comfortably into her wedding dress motivated her to stay on track.
No word if her husband-to-be offered any support during Chen’s weight loss journey.
Netizens were blown away by her transformation and praised Chen for achieving such amazing results.
“Now you look every bit the princess you envisioned yourself to be,” said one.
However, some wondered how much of her transformation was authentic.
“All the filters make her look like an anime character in her pictures. Losing weight doesn’t turn you into a cartoon, right?”
Others speculated that she might have gone under the knife to look like K-pop idol, Jennie of Blackpink.
“Losing weight won’t make you look like Jennie. Are you sure it was just diet and exercise?” asked a netizen.
Well, if Chen is happy on her wedding day, that’s all that matters, right?
