Pigeon Hitches Ride On Japan Train, Only To Be Chased Out By Conductor — Politely, Of Course

A netizen was recently on board a train in Toyama, Japan, when she noticed an unexpected commuter — a fluffy grey pigeon nestled comfortably on one of the bright orange seats.

In her video on Xiaohongshu, the bird appeared completely at ease, unfazed by the curious glances of fellow commuters.

“You can get off after one stop, don’t be lazy okay,” quipped the netizen in her post.

However, the pigeon’s journey was about to be cut short.

A train conductor, well-prepared for the surprise guest, entered the cabin with a small towel in hand.

He made a few attempts to catch the feathery stowaway, but the pigeon managed to slip free — twice.

On the third try, the conductor successfully secured the bird and, in a swift move, ran towards the train doors before setting the pigeon free on the platform.

Netizens were both entertained and impressed, with many commenting on how “well-behaved” the pigeon seemed.

They also remarked on how accustomed the pigeon seemed to humans.

“Why is it behaving like it can’t fly?” joked one netizen, while another wrote: “If this is the norm, train conductors in Japan must be very busy.”
