Press Release

Huawei Unveils New Creativity-Boosting Audio and Smart Office Products in Dubai

[Singapore, 15 December 2023] – Huawei Consumer Business Group (CBG) officially announce the launch of its brand-new audio product HUAWEI FreeClip open-ear earbuds in Dubai on 12 December 2023, expanding the brand’s repertoire of audio product series and catering to a new generation of listeners. The never-before-seen stylish Open-ear earbuds design on HUAWEI FreeClip release follows the ‘Fashion Forward’ proposition introduced in October 2023, highlighting Huawei’s dedication in building high-end products that seamlessly merge technology and fashion. The innovative C-bridge Design structure of HUAWEI FreeClip ensures optimal listening comfort with its breathable form.

Alongside the launch event themed ‘Creation of Beauty’, Huawei also unveils a line-up of groundbreaking innovations, including one of the thinnest and lightest 13-inch large-size tablet in the industry HUAWEI MatePad Pro 13.2-inch.

HUAWEI FreeClip – Huawei’s First Open-ear TWS Earbuds, Made for New Generation Listener

During its R&D process, Huawei identified a growing demographic of listeners seeking a unique audio experience with the technological strengths of contemporary in-ear wireless headphones but allowed them to stay attuned to their surroundings. However, many users found conventional open-ear earbuds to be lacking in comfort, audio quality, and aesthetics.

In response, Huawei developed the HUAWEI FreeClip, open-ear earbuds with an advanced C-bridge Design to address challenges faced by users in outdoor sports or multitasking between online calls and in-person collaborations at work. Prioritizing comfort and style, Huawei conducted extensive real user testing and research to ensure an optimal comfort and ergonomic fit for users with diverse fashion and lifestyle demands.

The HUAWEI FreeClip marks Huawei’s first open-ear TWS earbuds, distinguishing itself from conventional audio technology with its innovative C-bridge Design, ushering a new era of Open-ear listening technology, bringing next level of comfort, aesthetics, and connectivity to users. In addition, the earbuds also feature leakproof sound technology, innovative intelligent left-right ear recognition with Smart Wear Detection4, long battery capacity, AI call noise reduction, and supports IP54-level water and dust resistance[1].

Innovative C-bridge Design: Optimising the Open-Ear Audio Experience

To create open-ear TWS earbuds that provide comfort and style all at once, Huawei thoroughly conducted real user testing and research to achieve an optimal ergonomic fit that still manages to stun in design – basing its design off the data of over 10,000 global human ear data[2].

This was achieved through three main parts of the earbuds: the Comfort Bean, the Acoustic Ball, and the C-bridge Design. At the centre of the structural design is the C-bridge Design, which connects the Acoustic Ball and Comfort Bean using a cantilever design. The C-bridge Design is crafted with the industry’s complex techniques, which required 3 years for Huawei engineers to master. The C-bridge Design’s prototypical infrastructure is made of high-performance nickel-titanium (Ni-Ti) shape memory alloy, which ensures optimal comfort for different ear sizes and shapes. Even with its malleability, the C-bridge Design also manages to maintain its durability, and has been stress-tested through 25,000+ reliability tests[3].

The C-bridge Design also brings the ultimate technology that connects the earbuds’ acoustic, battery and control system, with the Ni-Ti shape memory alloy containing 9 core wires and 1 memory steel wire despite having the thin circumference of a wire. This design ensures each earbud weighs only as light as 5.6g, lightweight and comfortable enough to be worn a full day.

Together with the ergonomic convex-concave structures of the Acoustic Ball and Comfort Bean, each feature works together to produce a secure yet ergonomic fit, staying fastened on the user’s ears while lessening strain and discomfort on the ears. This matters even more to those who need to wear their earbuds over a long period of time, whether it is a full workday of back-to-back calls in the office or leisurely use.

Leakproof Audio Featuring Reverse Sound Waves System

The HUAWEI FreeClip addresses concerns about open-ear audio clarity and sound leaks by incorporating two key audio technologies: the 10.8mm Dual Magnet High-Sensitivity Driver Unit to increase speaker driving capability, capturing nuanced tones of the user’s music; while the Reverse Sound Waves system intelligently adjusts volume while cancelling sound waves for enhanced privacy. This feature effectively reduces sound leakage by canceling distant sound waves. HUAWEI FreeClip also integrates dual sound rear vents on the acoustic ball to offset leakage sound waves, minimizing the risk of sound leaks.

Moreover, the C-bridge Design ensures the Acoustic Ball’s comfortably covers the circumference around the crus of the helix and the antitragus, comfortably fitting the user’s auricles while bringing the audio production closer to the ear canal.

First Open-Ear Earbuds with Auto Left-Right Ear Recognition and AI Call Noise Reduction

Addressing the common challenge of inconvenient sorting between left and right TWS earbuds, HUAWEI FreeClip introduces the first Open-ear design earbuds that does not distinguish between left and right ears with Smart Wear Detection[4]. This technology ensures adaptability to users’ comfort and convenience, offering hassle-free and intuitive experience, as mismatched earbuds can lead to inconsistent sound and discomfort the ears.

Furthermore, as these earbuds can be used interchangeably, users have the flexibility to optimize battery life and enjoy longer usage duration[5] , especially in scenarios where a single earphone is sufficient for picking up a quick call. HUAWEI FreeClip, with its Crystal-Clear AI Calls and 2 microphones + VPU wind noise cancellation design, ensures excellent call quality even when outdoors in a crowded area or during outdoor exercise. The earbuds can last up to 8 hours[6] of listening time or 5 hours of talk time on a single charge. Alternatively, users can revel in up to 36 hours with a fully charged charging case.

Made for the Fit and Fashionable: Sweat Resistance and Wind Reduction

In addition to providing a snug and secure fit, the HUAWEI FreeClip supports IP54-level water and dust resistance[7]. This makes the earphones ideal for users engaged in physical activities, whether for music motivation or staying connected with Bluetooth calls. The inclusion of a sound suppression duct effectively minimizes wind noise, allowing users to make clear calls while road cycling in public or driving with open car windows. Furthermore, the HUAWEI FreeClip doubles as a trendy accessory for your outfit, making it a must-have audio device for frequent travellers and fitness enthusiasts.

HUAWEI MatePad Pro 13.2” – A Decade-Defining Masterpiece to Spark Creativity

Creation is a universal pursuit, and Huawei gives users tools to unleash their creativity with remarkable ease, in line with the event’s ‘Creation of Beauty’ theme. Over the past decade, Huawei tablets have evolved into productivity-boosting devices, capable of performing a wide range of office tasks and creative work. The new HUAWEI MatePad Pro 13.2-inch brings together so much of what has made Huawei tablets so unique, and takes on-the-go creation to a whole new level.

The tablet’s vast OLED flexible screen comes on a wafer-thin 5.5 mm thick and 580 g body, and is surrounded by 3.4 mm bezels to produce a staggering 94% screen-to-body ratio[8] . It is one of the thinnest tablet, with the narrowest bezels and highest screen-to-body ratio. The tablet’s HUAWEI XTrue™ Display and HUAWEI SOUND™ system interact with a wealth of enriching apps and technologies to bring wholly immersive audio-visual entertainment.

The new tablet works seamlessly with the HUAWEI M-Pencil (3rd generation) stylus powered by NearLink technology[9], and the HUAWEI Smart Magnetic Keyboard, both tablet accessories, open up new possibilities for creation. When the stylus is connected to the tablet via NearLink, it supports 10,000+ pressure sensing levels and highly touch-response strokes, thanks to NearLink’s low latency, powerful anti-interference capability, accurate positioning, as well as high throughput, concurrency, and reliability. The HUAWEI MatePad’s Colour Capture feature allows users to select a colour that catches their eye from another app, and create something directly with it.

There’s also the all-new detachable HUAWEI Smart Magnetic Keyboard, which comes with a full-area touchpad, so that the tablet can look and feel like a laptop on a whim. The HUAWEI MatePad Pro 13.2-inch furthers the legacy of Huawei tablets, by featuring a breath-taking design, powerful creative tools, immersive entertainment, and on-the-go mobile office features, turning every user into a wellspring of creativity.
