Former Mediacorp star Sharon Au’s dad has died at age 74.
On Tuesday (Jan 2), the 48-year-old, who now lives in Paris, took to her socials to pay tribute to her father Jeffrey Au.
Jeffrey, who worked as a teacher in St Andrew’s Secondary School when he was younger, passed away on Boxing Day (Dec 26).
“I love you Dad. I didn’t get to tell you. Too many words unsaid. Too many regrets. Grief-stricken. Can you hear me wherever you are?” she wrote.
Sharon went on to share that she’s been “receiving an outpour of messages” from people who wrote about how her father was such an “inspiring, fierce but kind disciplinary master with a wicked sense of humour”.
According to Sharon, her dad also enlightened many of his past pupils with “anti-gang talks” which prevented them from going astray.
“You said, “if you want to join a gang, join the biggest strongest gang of all, The Singapore Police Force”. They said you were a Legend. The Legend in White. I am so proud of you, Dad,” she gushed.
The next day, Sharon shared on her Instagram Stories a screenshot of her WhatsApp chat with her dad before he passed.
“Have a merry Christmas dad!,” she wrote in her final message to her father. Unfortunately, Jeffrey did not manage to respond to her last text.
“Dad? You there? No reply,” she wrote.
