Jeanette Aw opens chocolate pop-up booth in Nagoya, sells out of products on opening day

Jeanette’s booth, which sells bonbons and brownies, was part of a 28-day chocolate fair called Amour du Chocolat, located on the 10th floor of the JR Nagoya Takashimaya department store, which will run until Valentine’s Day.

Her next stop is Osaka, on the 9th floor of Hankyu Umeda Main Store, according to her Jan 19th Instagram post. After that, she will head to her final stop – Tokyo.

Jeanette said in an interview with 8days.sg that she worked closely with a Japanese pastry chef to create Japan-exclusive treats for her pop-ups. These treats are chocolate bonbons and a new rendition of her famous What The Fudge brownies – a special Japan-only orange flavoured brownie, retailing for 3,456 yen (S$31).

“He’s a fantastic chef and I’m so happy with what he’s done so far. The recipe and product are as close to what I like them to be,” Jeanette told 8days.sg. She also shared that she was involved in choosing the packaging and marketing materials, which were designed by Japanese graphic designer Naonori Yago.

Once Upon A Time was started in 2021 by Jeanette, who completed a patisserie course at Le Cordon Bleu Tokyo in 2019.
