Evergreen Mak Responds To Speculations That He’s Now A Waiter In China

Of late, we’ve seen a lot of celebs switching careers. Like Taiwanese star Kris Chen, who now sells chicken at a wet market, or former Miss Hong Kong Halina Tam, who became a fishball seller?

No wonder netizens were so quick to assume that ex-TVB actor Evergreen Mak, who’s now based in China, has found a new job after he was seen “working” at a restaurant.

Recently, a netizen took to social media to share a picture of the 55-year-old star, who left TVB in 2019, helping to barbecue food for diners.

Evergreen was also wearing a white tee and black vest, which resembled a uniform.

“Is he a waiter now?” questioned one netizen.

It looks like the netizen was too quick to jump the gun.

Taking to his social media to refute the speculations, Evergreen wrote: “Yesterday, I was invited to be a one-day store manager at the newly-opened barbecue restaurant that is just a five-minute drive away from the Shenzhen North Railway Station.”

Evergreen  thanked everyone for their support, and took the opportunity to share pictures of the food.

Um, maybe the actor should charge the restaurant for the extra publicity?
