Ukranian-Born Miss Japan Gives Up Crown After 15 Day-Reign After Admitting To Affair With Married Plastic Surgeon

When Ukrainian-born model Karolina Shiino became the first person of European descent to win the Miss Japan Grand Prix late last month (Jan 22), it had the Japanese chattering about race, ethnicity, and looks.

However, 15 days after her win, the professional model has chosen to give up her title.

This is after a Japanese news report revealed that she is dating popular plastic surgeon Takuma Maeda, 45, who just happens to be married with a child.

The article claimed that the two were initially just friends who went out for meals but became closer as time went by, with Takuma inviting Karolina to his home for a date.

Initially refuting the allegations when the news first broke, Karolina changed her tune yesterday (Feb 5) and admitted to the rumours about her having an affair with a married man.

In an Instagram post, Karolina admitted that she was inconsistent with the facts and went on to apologise to fans who supported her.

“I once again apologise to everyone for my betrayal,” wrote Karolina.

She also solemnly expressed her sincere apologies to Takuma’s wife, family, and other related parties.
