Here’s a reminder to always work out safely should you decide to get fit after CNY.
A lady in Wuhan, who goes by the last name Le, was at a yoga class. As she got into a pigeon pose, Le’s instructor walked over and pressed down on her back to force her into a deeper stretch.
Unfortunately, the instructor overestimated Le’s flexibility and applied too much pressure, and ended up breaking Le’s thigh in the process.
A shocking ‘pop’ sound echoed around the room, followed by Le’s painful wail.
Speaking to Chinese media, Le recalled: “When I was finally able to react to what happened, my thigh had already contracted. The [broken area] started to swell, causing my leg to appear shorter. My bone was also jutting out through my flesh, and my muscles were pushed upwards.
According to Le, the yoga studio covered her medical bills, though she was sent home after receiving treatment to heal on her own. They did not offer to pay should she be hospitalised.
Le was unsatisfied with the yoga studio’s response, and headed to the police station to make a report.
“The yoga studio then sent me a text saying [they would] cover my hospitalisation bills. However, I’m now unsure if they will actually cover the rest of the bills I might incur,” said Le.
According to reports, this is not the first time the yoga studio has had students filing police reports against them after they got injured in a similar way during class.
