Hong Kong actor Jacky Heung, 40, is no stranger to being in the spotlight for his fashion choices. In fact, it looks like the star may even revel in being the centre of attention.
Jacky was recently spotted at Lau Pa Sat hawker centre in an outfit that, in the nicest way, could only be described as quirky.
In the clips shared online, Jacky was seen dressed in what appeared to be a thick, light tan-coloured puffy jacket. The term ‘jacket’ is used loosely here, ‘cos the thing he had on was of a bulbous shape, ended only at his thighs, with sleeves that reached all the way to the ground.
Jacky’s legs may have been completely bare, but his eye-catching outfit was definitely way too much for the blistering 35 degree afternoon heat.
The actor strolled around the hawker centre while being followed by a filming crew. He was assumed to be doing a shoot for a show, or filming social media content. Maybe he was wearing that outfit as some sort of punishment.
Jacky went viral, with many netizens dropping hot takes on his appearance. Some said he looked “eye-catching”, while others likened his get-up to “a piece of poop”.
“I’m super envious of his willpower,” quipped one netizen. Another questioned if he was “immune to the heat”.
Others also labelled him as someone who “longs for attention to get famous”.
It hasn’t been long since Jacky last made the headlines for wearing his mother’s coat to a red carpet event, and again for cross-dressing on live stream.
Jacky once spoke about his participation on the second season of Chinese drama-themed reality show, Memories Beyond Horizon (2024). He had given his full seriousness for the programme, only to be seen by the audience as a comedic-relief personality.
Responding to that, he said: “I will always try my best to do things with passion, but everyone sees me as a clown, and that’s the fact of things.”
Maybe he’s fully leaning into his comedic side now?
