Heavenly King Aaron Kwok was looking preppy in a form-fitting polo shirt at the Sha Tin Racecourse on Sunday (Oct 27).
But his casual outfit didn’t fly with the venue security and was seen being refused entry into the VIP area, presumably because he wasn’t wearing a jacket.
According to the racecourse’s website, the club has the authority to impose specific dress codes, especially for the VIP area.
We think being denied entry anywhere is not something Aaron is very used to, especially when he owns not one but three prized racing stallions.
Also, we find it hard to believe the Heavenly King forgot there was a dress code as he is a regular sight at the races.
Knowing that there were many eyes (and cameras) on him, Aaron, who was accompanied by his wife Moka Fang, was seen patiently waiting for the situation to be resolved.
In fact, some men surrounding Aaron were seen taking off their jackets and offering it to him.
After a few minutes, Aaron was allowed in and the incident has since drawn mixed comments online.
While some, like us, felt that Aaron has always assumed to have preferential treatment, others felt the racecourse ushers “didn’t give the Heavenly King face.”
One netizen even acidly wrote: “This just proves that the dress code only applies to poor people.
Seeing as what just unfolded, we find it a little hard to argue against that.
