On 28 November 2020, Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat announced the launch of the Climate Friendly Household Programme (CFHP):
Back in November 2020, 300,000 eligible 1, 2, and 3-room HDB households in Singapore could apply for $225 worth of e-vouchers to buy household products that were more energy—or water-efficient.
This scheme has been improved. From today (15 April 2024), all HDB households will receive $300 worth of Climate Vouchers for the enhanced CFHP. These vouchers can be used to purchase 10 types of energy and water-efficient household products, including new additions such as direct current fans, washing machines, and water closets. The Climate Vouchers will be valid until 31 December 2027.

Why Switch To Energy-Efficient or Water-Efficient Products?
Personally, my household uses an energy-efficient refrigerator, LED lights and water-efficient water fittings.
It is an easy decision to make due to the cost savings.
According to the National Environmental Agency (NEA), switching to energy—and water-saving products could save an average household $40 – $120 annually.
