Aunties Working At Daiso IMM Go Viral With TikTok Challenge

If you’re one of those who spend hours scrolling TikTok every day (heh, guilty!), you definitely would have come across this TikTok trend called the ‘Eunchae Challenge’.

The ‘Eunchae Challenge’ is named after K-pop group Le Sserafim’s Hong Eunchae. The band’s 2024 bop ‘Crazy’ features as the background track, with Eunchae’s rap taking centre stage, to what is essentially a bunch of people standing in the same position while bouncing back and forth.

In other words, imagine yourself in a boomerang.

Now, we’ve watched many people do the challenge — even the girls from Le Sserafim themselves.

But aunties doing it?

Earlier this week, Japanese discount store Daiso Singapore took to their TikTok to share a video of their middle-aged female employees from Daiso IMM attempting the challenge.

The aunties were all wearing the Daiso uniform — pink polo tee and brown apron  and were holding products from the store while bobbing their bodies to the music.

“Le Sserafim who?!” wrote Daiso in their caption.

Though their moves were, to be honest, far from synchronised, the internet didn’t mind at all given how cute the aunties were.

Netizens also had nothing but good things to say about the brand’s efficacious marketing stunt.

“Daiso? More like Dai-slay,” raved one netizen.

Replying to the comment “How much are they paid for this”, the admin of Daiso’s IG replied: “Not gonna lie they were more excited than me when I asked them if they were open to filming another video. So thankful for them.”

Hmm… maybe these aunties deserve a raise?
