Chinese actor Huang Xiaoming is currently on a high after winning the Golden Goblet Award for Best Actor for his performance in the critically acclaimed Mostly Sunshine at Saturday’s (Jun 22) Shanghai International Film Festival.

The film premiered at the Festival in the Main Competition section of the Golden Goblet Awards.

But what caught most people’s attention was how different Xiaoming, 46, looked when he accepted his award compared to his appearance in the movie.

Xiaoming, who plays as an intellectually disabled man in the film, gained 15kg for his role and sported a belly.

Not only did he manage to lose all the weight after filming wrapped, he did it over just two weeks.

And he is not done.

In a backstage interview after accepting his award, the actor shared that his next film, which has not yet been announced, will require him to shed another 25kg.

Yikes. We can’t image all the stretch marks from the drastic weight loss.

If you’re wondering how he managed slim down so quickly, Xiaoming revealed in an interview last week that he sometimes has only “one sugar-free biscuit” for breakfast, joking that he can gain weight just by drinking too much water.

Xiaoming is no stranger to undergoing drastic transformations for his roles.

In 2020, he developed heart problems after drastically losing weight for his film A Cover-Up, before buffing up for next project.
