Earlier this week, Daffy Tong, the partner of the late Leslie Cheung, experienced the fury of fans after being accused of dating someone by the name of Shi. who is 27 years younger than him.
Daffy, 65, was said to be living with Shi, who is 27 years younger, in the home he shared with Leslie.
Though Daffy set his Instagram to private after being heckled by fans online, he released a statement in a post on Thursday (July 19) stating his innocence.
Daffy started off apologising for causing “misunderstanding and anxiety” among fans who care for Leslie and that he would take the time to “deeply reflect on [his] actions and performance”.
He went on to clarify that he has been living alone for more than a decade since moving out of Leslie’s home.
He also described his relationship with Shi as “friends without any commitment” and that they are “two independent individuals”.
Daffy also cleared up rumours that he fathered a child via surrogacy and that the kids seen in recent pictures belonged to his friends.
“My relationship with these children is like how a grandparent is with his grandkids,” he adds.
Daffy ended the post asking for forgiveness again.
After all that, we wonder why did he need to go to such lengths to apologise for supposedly untrue allegations?
