Many of you are familiar with TVB actor Vincent Wong, but how many actually know that he has a younger brother who was an actor too?
The 2021 TVB Best Actor’s brother, Tony, 33, has appeared in a number of TVB dramas, including Flying Tiger (2018) and I Bet Your Pardon (2019). However, his roles were so minor, you would probably have missed them if you blinked.
Tony has since given up on his acting to become a financial advisor.
According to reports, Tony joined the banking and FA industry after he graduated from university in the States.
He was bitten by the fame bug and applied to enrol in TVB’s artiste training class in 2015. Sadly, he was not accepted at that time.
The next year, he participated in the Mr Hong Kong pageant, but was forced to drop out due to health reasons.
Last year, Tony took to his socials to hint at his upcoming plans.
“These days the market for acting in Hong Kong isn’t great. Many of my model friends have made a career switch, and most of them became financial advisors,” he wrote.
He also shared that he’s now a member of The Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), which is a trade association for successful insurance agents and financial advisors.
According to reports, in order to become a member of MDRT, one has to generate commissions amounting HK$470K (S$80K), an income of HK$820K (S$139.7K) or a premium of HK$1.86mil (S$317K) annually.
