It is not uncommon to see kids travelling with their stuffed toys. But what if their precious plushies don’t make it past airport security?
A now-viral video on Xiaohongshu captured a heartwarming (and slightly nerve-wracking) moment at Changi Airport, where a security officer playfully pretended to confiscate a girl’s stuffed toy, a white fox plushie from IKEA.
In the clip, the officer, who was grinning, held onto the plushie behind the baggage scanner while repeatedly saying: “Cannot [bring this onto the plane] ah”.
Meanwhile, a young girl stood frozen, eyes locked on her toy, looking increasingly distressed.
“My sister’s tears were about to trickle down,” wrote the original poster.
Seeing how anxious the girl was, the officer finally said: “Okay lah, okay lah, don’t cry lah,” before returning her the toy.
Relieved, the girl grabbed her toy at lightning speed before breaking into a smile.
While that must have been a nerve-wracking moment for the kid, netizens couldn’t help but be amused by the officer’s playful antics.
“Are the staff in Singapore all so humorous?,” asked one netizen.
However, not everyone has been as lucky. One user shared that she once brought a stuffed fox to the airport, only for it to be taken away for further checks.
Oh no, we hope that she eventually got her plushie back.
