On Wed (Oct 2), a netizen in Hong Kong took to Threads to share a traumatising experience he had while watching new Taiwanese movie The Chronicles of Libidoists.
The movie stars 41-year-old Golden Horse Best Actor Wu Kang Ren, as well as Taiwanese actors Liu Chu-Ping, Will Or and Liang Xiang Hua. It revolves around four lonely people engaging in extreme sex as they search for meaning to their lives.
It doesn’t take a genius to figure out, even from the title, that the movie features a lot of sex scenes.
So we’re not surprised that there are people who go watch the Category III (or R21 in Singapore’s context) movie just for that.
According to the netizen, he had heard loud moaning coming from a man in the cinema throughout the screening.
He shared that the man was watching the movie with his girlfriend, and that his actions made everyone else so uncomfortable, a cinema staff had to enter the theatre halfway through the film to find out what was going on.
The man did not stop moaning even after the staff told him to.
Said netizen was not the only person on Threads who was disturbed by the man during the movie.
Another netizen, who, believe it or not, happened to be in the same theatre, commented: “I’m one of the victims. I was so mad. I was being ‘harassed’ by the man the entire time!”
That was still not the most disgusting part.
From the photo shared by the netizen, the man also left behind used tissue paper on the seat after the movie.
We can only hope it was used to clean up spilled… Coke?
The Chronicles of Libidoists premiered in June in Taiwan and opened in Hong Kong on September 26. It is, however, not slated to be screened in Singapore and has not been submitted for censorship classification.
