Cute Lovebird Seen Lost At Void Deck Of HDB Block, Presumably In Jurong West

It seems someone might be missing a lovebird at the start of 2025.

Xiaohongshu user Sophia posted a clip of a blue and grey lovebird perched on a beam in her building.

According to her, she spotted the feathered creature at the void deck of her block and was heard asking it where it was from before it suddenly fluttered away.

“Poor thing… do you want to come down? Where are you from? Did you sneakily leave your home,” Sophia was heard asking.

Despite the incessant questioning, it seems the lovebird ignored her and for a moment was seen adorably closing its eyes to rest.

Although Sophia left the block number as 517E, the specific location was not mentioned. But a quick Google shows that the only estate with a block 517E is at Jurong West St 52.

She also asked her followers in the captions if anyone had lost their pet though a quick check online also didn’t reveal any lost notices matching the lovebird’s description.

The clip soon caught the attention of concerned netizens with a number asking if Sophia could catch the bird, it could become easy prey for crows and cats.

Not to mention, the growing population of hornbills which have been known to feast on their smaller feathered friends.

Sophia responded saying she will attempt to guide the lovebird down using parrot sounds and care for it in the meantime even though she has no experience.

Umm… will making such animal sounds scare the lovebird instead?

She also said she had tried calling the National Parks Board (NParks) for advice, but no one picked up.

Others also offered advice on how to care for the bird including feeding it yellow millet and cooled boiled water

Hopefully pet and owner are reunited soon.
