Is that a dog we see comfortably seated in Business Class on Singapore Airlines?
In a video posted to Instagram, Spotty a female dalmation is seen getting ready at a Changi Airport lounge before boarding her SIA flight to Japan.
The video also showed the canine on her best behaviour, sitting upright, and snoozing on the almost seven-hour journey.
According to Spotty’s Instagram stories, she and her owners were relocating to Japan for the next few years.
The video has since been viewed more than 1.6 million times on Instagram.
Many netizens praised Spotty for being well-behaved on the flight, while others commended Singapore Airlines for being so open-minded about having pets on board.
“Willing to pay any amount to sit beside you, Spotty!” read a comment while another observed that “the dog is behaving better than many humans”.
This isn’t Spotty’s first time flying on SIA.
Posts from a few months back showed the dalmatian commuting between Switzerland to Singapore, of course in a Business Class seat no less.
One even commented, “Here I am trying to save up for my next Business Class seat, and Spotty has already enjoyed it multiple times”.
In a reply to netizen comments, Spotty is revealed to be a registered service dog. Netizens were also urged to enquire with SIA for more information.
Other than Singapore Airlines, Swiss Air, Delta Airlines, and American Airlines are some companies known to allow passengers to be accompanied by their furkids.
However, it is worth noting that since April 1, 2024, SIA has banned emotional support dogs, though approved assistance and service dogs are still welcome on board.
